Guided Snowmobile Tour
Two hours on professionally groomed trails through private and public land, with a guide out front and the Sawatch peaks in your face the whole way. The Indy 550 is easy to ride and forgiving. If you have never been on a sled, this is the one.

Off-trail riding on the private 1,000-acre ranch just outside Leadville and on public land: open meadows, hill climbs, tree riding, deep snow. The Pro RMK 850 is a mountain sled built for exactly this. Skills instruction is available if you want to get better at side-hilling and climbing instead of just surviving it.

Turquoise Lake, the ranch, and three million acres of public land.
The trail tour follows professionally groomed routes through private and public land west of town, with the Sawatch Range and the frozen lake as the backdrop. Guests on the loop around Turquoise Lake have measured it at about 25 miles.
The High Adventure and snowbike days go off-trail on the private 1,000-acre ranch just outside Leadville: meadows to open up in, hills to climb, aspens to thread. When you want more, the San Isabel National Forest is next door.

Leadville averages about 157 inches of snow a year and sits above 10,000 feet, so the season runs long, typically from December into early April depending on the snowpack. Call for current trail and snow conditions before you drive up; some early-season and late-season days come down to what fell that week.
Do I need my own snowmobile or gear?
No. Every winter tour includes a current model year Polaris sled, helmet, boots and a snowmobile suit. Bring goggles or sunglasses, gloves, a neck warmer and warm layers to wear under the suit.
How old do you have to be to drive a snowmobile?
Drivers must be at least 15 years old. Younger riders can ride double on the trail tour with an adult driving. Ask when you book if you are bringing children and we will set up the machines to match.
Which tour should a first-timer pick?
The two-hour Guided Snowmobile Tour on Polaris Indy 550s. It runs on professionally groomed trails, the guide gives full instruction before you leave, and you can ride single or double. Save the High Adventure day for after you know you like it.
What is the High Adventure tour?
An off-trail day for intermediate and advanced riders on Polaris Pro RMK 850 mountain sleds: open meadows, hill climbs and tree riding on the private 1,000-acre ranch outside Leadville and on public land. Half-day, full-day and multi-day options, with skills instruction available.
What is a snowbike?
A dirt bike converted with a Timbersled kit: a ski up front and a track in back. Ours are Yamaha 450-powered Polaris Timbersleds. If you ride moto, it feels familiar within an hour. Snowbike tours are private and guided.
What if the weather or snow cancels my tour?
Mountain weather and snowpack decide some days. Ask about the weather and cancellation policy when you book so there are no surprises; it is confirmed on your reservation.
